Heat Transfer Research Laboratory was established in the department of Chemical Engineering in 1968 primary to conduct and supervise the research activitiesin the area of heat transfer. Since then it has been active in pursuing research in terms of Ph.D. degrees and Post graduate dissertation in chemical, mechanical,Pulp & Paper and other branches of engineering. H.T.R.L. was started with the fundamental research  but with the passage of time it has diversified into application oriented research in heat transfer, energy engineering, process integration and other elite areas.
